how to make your room the best place on earth

Hey guys,

I recently painted and reorganised my room, life is too short for one colour on the walls, haha. So, my room is lavender purple / white now! However, since I am always craving room inspiration from others, I thought I showed you my favourite things to make my room prettier, more personal and inspiring.

  1. Pictures

This is probably the easiest way to give your room some personality: pick some pictures of your friends, family or whatsoever and just pin them right up your wall. It gets really classy when you use some pretty frames, I thought of framing my favourite black and white pictures and put them over my bed, I’ll keep you updated about that one. But you can also go with the simplest of all and just put your favourite pictures right up on the wall. I used to do it over my bed, basically over the whole wall, which looked really cool. To get some change, I used my polaroids to put them over my desk, which is great, because it reminds me that there still are good things in life, which is necessary when I’m doing homework, haha. But to be fair, polaroids really look perfect anywhere.

  1. Inspiration

This is one of my favourite things to get inspired. I printed my favourite quotes and inspirational pictures and pinned them over my make-up table, so that I always see them when I leave my room. And since I am a really visual person, this really leaves me inspired every time.

  1. Lights

Lights are the key to every cosy room. The more little lights you spread in your room, the cosier it gets. I have little lamps on my nightstand and over my make-up table, but my favourite kind of lights are still chains of light. I love simply hanging them from the ceiling as well as wrapping them around furniture. Just try anything, the basically look great everywhere. Last but not least, candles give the cosiest touch of all. They can’t be missed in a cosy room.

  1. Collections

Speaking of candles, I love throwing different kinds together. Mixing them up a little just gives the room a more personal and less perfect touch in my opinion. Same goes for little boxes, I use different ones on my make-up table to make it a little more interesting. That idea is also behind my clothes rail, I like putting my favourite clothes there for some colours and, again, some personality.

  1. Reading material

Not only make books seem your room (and yourself) so much intellectual, they also look great as decoration. I always have the book I read at the moment as well as the vogue of the months on my night table, for practical as well as for beauty reasons. But instead of leaving it there, I have them spread over my whole room basically, not really intentional, it just doesn’t really work otherwise. My vogues are for example on my clothes rail (where shoes normally belong) because I have no other space to put them. But I really like it this way, the are just really pretty, haha. And also they are great for putting my shoes on them. So just pick your favourite books or magazines and use them as a decoration, I really love this. You don’t have to use only coffee table books btw, random novels often work just as great.

This is basically it for my room decoration tips, if you have more, please tag me. I am in desperate, constant need of room inspiration, haha. xx, franka
